An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale (SR) hit islands off the Solomon early Monday. This was conveyed by US Geological Survey (USGS) or the US Geological Survey.
So far there is no tsunami warning was issued as a result of the earthquake Solomon it.
Solomon Islands is part of the Pacific Top 10 Facts “Ring of Fire”, a zone of tectonic activity that often cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
Earlier in late January, a 7.9-magnitude earthquake rocked the Solomon Islands, at 11:30 pm. The earthquake did not impact the tsunami in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, a wave of potentially hazardous leading to a number of beaches din South Pacific region, post-earthquake 7.8 on the Richter scale that shook near the Solomon Islands Friday, December 9, 2016 in the morning.
“Based on all available data, a tsunami could potentially hit a number of beaches,” according to a warning issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center , as quoted by CNN December 9, 2016.
